Linear Systems Grant Assessment Program

Welcome to the Linear System’s Grant Assessment Program (GAP). In today’s world, with budgetary cuts and layoffs nationwide, new technologies, no matter how necessary they may seem, are simply not a budgetary option for most agencies. Fortunately, there is an abundance of funding available in 2009, and Linear Systems is here to help you leverage this funding and bridge the gap between your technological needs, and the lack of budgetary funding available to purchase them.

Linear Systems’ GAP is a no cost, no obligation program, designed to assist your agency in analyzing your needs for Digital Information Management through workflow and SOP examination and guidance, and to guide your department through locating and leveraging grant appropriations. Funding is available to purchase DIMS Systems, as well as to create and preserve jobs and to increase your community policing capacity and crime-prevention efforts.

Linear Systems provides expertise in delivering completely automated digital information workflow solutions to local, state, and federal government agencies.  This includes consultation and engineering of customized solutions for specific tasks.

DIMS (Digital Information Management Systems) was created over 15 years ago to manage images for early adopters of Digital Photography. Today, DIMS has grown to manage the complete workflow and chain of custody for all forms of electronic evidence, from digital photography to audio and video.

DIMS Operations Center was designed specifically for agencies involved in emergency operations, where disseminating and distributing vital information from the scene can be a daunting task. Operations Center provides real-time intelligence by ensuring a constant flow of communication of critical information.

Information can be acquired, distributed and managed from a variety of devices, including body-worn digital cameras, handheld audio and video recorders, in-car systems, digital interview or booking rooms, and Taser cameras. Modules are available to assist in the transcription of audio files and to integrate with existing Records Management or Laboratory Information Management Systems. New module development is constantly underway, for state of the art technologies and products that can help our agencies prevent crime, protect our communities and themselves.

To successfully implement information management solutions, it is important to start by developing a clear understanding of both the current and projected workflow of an agency, to create the associated policies and procedures and to integrate into existing systems and operations. It is necessary to plan for the training of users, and maintenance of the completed project.

There are a series of questions that Linear Systems uses to calculate this type of information. Since the questions and answers to them can vary a great deal, we feel that the best means of managing this process is to work directly with a Linear Systems representative. Once you register for the program, you will be contacted by your representative, or can feel free to contact our New York Office at any time, at 646.403.9939 to complete your needs and workflow analysis and begin the process.

As a supplement to this package, you will find additional information on new opportunities as they open for the acceptance of applications in the coming months, including the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the Paul Coverdell Forensic Science Improvement Grants, the COPS Technology Grants and the Assistance to Firefighters Grants.  So long as you participate in Linear Systems Grant Information Program, details on additional opportunities will follow, as they are released.

Thank you, once again, for your participation in Linear Systems Grant Assessment Program.
