August 16th, 2008 - Cardinal Peak and Linear Systems announced today an integration of the CaseCracker Interview Management System with Linear Systems’ DIMS (Digital Information Management System) to provide investigators with a complete digital media management system.

Increased instances of challenges to the validity of digital content introduced as evidence, combined with liability due to accidental release of photos or video crime scenes or suspects demands very strict enforcement of chain of custody policies.  The goal is to give investigators a policy based system through which to access all digital evidence.  CaseCracker automates the acquisition of video and audio to preserve potential evidence acquired from digitally equipped interview rooms.  DIMS is a product that automates the process of acquisition, redundant storage, authentication, access control, log tracking, and output of digital photographic, audio, and video evidence to insure and maintain a complete chain of custody.  The integration of CaseCracker and DIMS automates the chain of custody and implementation and enforcement of an agency’s policy and procedures, optimized communication, increases efficiency, reduces liability, and eliminates challenges to authenticity, therefore saving time and money.  This is the key to improving successful conviction rates.
