DIMS Modules

Linear Systems is pleased to announce DIMS enhancement modules for 2009. The below modules are fully compatible with existing versions of DIMS Core and/or DIMS ImageServer, are designed to implement, automate, execute, and enforce your agency’s Policies and Procedures and were created to be compliant with evidence standards such as SWGIT, ASCLD, ISO, and 28 CFR. Some modules require DIMS Core, additional DIMS Modules, hardware, or the DIMS ImageServer System.

DIMS Audio ModuleDIMS Audio Acquisition Module
DIMS can now download audio files from a wide range of audio recording devices across multiple formats – from digital pocket recorders, to interview rooms, or from 911 or radio traffic recordings.  DIMS can now provide the same chain of custody and log tracking for audio assets as digital images.  Audio is stored in its original format as evidence and a working copy is created and stored in an industry standard format.

DIMS Video ModuleDIMS Video Acquisition Module
This module allows agencies to download video from a variety of sources and provides chain of custody and log tracking for video assets. Applications include downloading video from digital cameras at crime scenes, forensic video, interview rooms, in-car video, and other sources of video evidence that require the same security as other digital assets. Video is stored in its original format as evidence and a working copy is created and stored in an industry standard format.

T-CAM ModuleDIMS T-Cam Capture Module

Allows DIMS to manage and apply chain of custody to evidence downloaded from the X26 Taser equipped with the Taser Cam.  The DIMS module acquires and archives the video, audio, and metadata (dataport firing log) from information already downloaded using the Taser Cam software.

AFIS ModuleAFIS Integration Module
This new module allows users to select a specific area of a fingerprint and export it based upon pre-defined size, dpi and file type requirements to an AFIS System. The module also integrates with Adobe Photoshop to track and log the complete image enhancement history while maintaining the full chain custody.  The AFIS module can be pre-configured to support an agency’s specific AFIS system, and adds a significant level of automation to the identification process.

In-car Video ModuleIn Car Video Data Management Module
In-car video adds a level of complexity and liability to the process of collecting massive amounts of video data.  Linear Systems takes the complexity and liability out of the equation, with in-car video management through the DIMS system. DIMS Mass Storage Solutions are utilized to create a secure, manageable, upgradeable, and compliant archive to store and apply chain of custody criteria to in-car video data. The DIMS ImageServer QoS model  manages the secure transfer of extremely large volumes of data from multiple substations to a centralized repository over the existing network infrastructure without delaying emails or crashing the system.

Minilab ModuleDIMS Minilab Module
The DIMS Mini-Lab module allows for the integration of various high volume digital -printing devices, such as Noritsu or Fuji Mini-Lab photo systems to the DIMS Core or ImageServer System.  The Mini-Lab module is an embedded software RIP (raster image processor) and accelerator designed for variable and fixed multi-format proof sheets and print packages including logo, automatic copyright, and unauthorized possession disclaimers, all while maintaining chain of custody, log tracking, and 28CFR compliance.

Off-site Storage ModuleOff-site Storage Module
This storage module provides compliance with industry guidelines for secure management, disaster recovery and backup of records to an off-site location.  This automated procedure provides a tertiary level of redundancy, and will assist command staff in reviewing and maintaining readiness under commonly enforced standards for compliance and disaster recovery.

Records Management System Integration ModuleRecords Management System (RMS) Integration Module
This module is possible because DIMS uses industry standard file formats and never uses proprietary data formats for storage of assets or data.  The capabilities for bi-directional connection allow for the integration of existing RMS or LIMS Solutions to the DIMS ImageServer Web Browser and database by using the DIMS RMS/LIMS feed. The module can pre-populate case fields in DIMS using records and case data from your existing RMS or LIMS system and DIMS can, (with assistance from the RMS vendor), populate the RMS or LIMS user screens with thumbnails from DIMS, based on security levels setup in DIMS ImageServer.  This module is designed to be customized to an agency’s requirements and to the specific RMS or LIMS Solution used.

Transcription ModuleTranscription Module
DIMS now allows your agency to acquire audio from multiple sources and download into the DIMS system. From an interface within DIMS ImageServer Web Browser, the audio can be played back for transcription of reports and interviews, using a foot pedal controller.
