Linear Systems Announces Switch to Intel

Rancho Cucamonga, CA – Linear Systems, a leading manufacturer of information management systems for digital evidence collection and Chain of Custody has announced that effective January 2008 all of their products will be using Intel® architecture.  Intel® Quad-Core Xeon processors for servers and Intel ® Core™2 processors for client systems will replace the AMD line of processors previously featured in Linear’s products.

Linear Systems is the manufacturer and developer of the DIMS solution.  DIMS (Digital Information Management System), a turn-key hardware/software solution, is used by over 500 law enforcement agencies, military, and government agencies across the United States for the collection and management of digital evidence.  “DIMS was originally designed to collect and manage digital photographic evidence.  The DIMS product has progressed to now process audio, video, and document evidence from various sources, which in tern places additional demands on processing power and mass storage.  The Intel processors provide us with the enhanced computing power and support of a world class manufacturing company that will allow us to add new features and value for our clients,” said Chris Parsons, CEO of Linear Systems.

“Linear Systems will take advantage of the multithreading and multi-core design of Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors and Intel Core2 Duo processors to help enhance the critical information management capabilities for law enforcement, government and military users of its products,” said C.J. Bruno, Intel Americas Marketing Director.
Linear Systems DIMS ImageServer is developed on a Linux platform and has been optimized for the Intel® Xeon® processor 5310 series and Intel® Core™2 Duo processor 4600 series

Linear Systems was founded in 1988 to provide law enforcement, government and military customers complete turnkey digital information management solutions and support.  Linear Systems services over 500 local, state and federal agencies across the United States.
