DIMS Offerings

Linear Systems developed the first version of their Digital Information Management Systems over 15 years ago. Originally designed to manage images for early adopters of Digital Photography, DIMS has grown to manage all forms of electronic evidence. This includes not only digital photography but voice and video evidence. DIMS was the first system designed specifically to meet the needs of the Public Safety community, and continues to adapt and expand to meet the ever challenging needs of First Responders. DIMS works for both small and large agencies and scales to meet the needs of growing departments.

DIMS for Law Enforcement

Linear has worked closely with Law Enforcement for the last 15 years to continue to develop DIMS, including the addition of product and feature sets that fit departmental workflow and best practice scenarios. This includes custom workflow integration as well as modules for the capture of external audio and video files from sources such as digital interview rooms, in-car systems, and even Taser Cameras.

In addition, there are several export modules designed to correspond with workflow, such as the PhotoShop Module, which allows for log tracking and enhancement history with complete export and re-import capabilities, as well as the AFIS Module, pre-configurable to specific AFIS system requirements, this module allows for the export of multiple fingerprint lifts from images.

DIMS for Fire/Rescue

DIMS Fire/Rescue Solutions result in the complete implementation and automation of Policy and Procedures for the management of digital images, audio, and video, for Fire, Hazmat and Rescue Agencies in their Investigations and Safety Divisions. This includes a comprehensive chain of custody, log tracking, audit trail, and enhancement history.

In addition, Linear strives to meet the growing needs of First Responders. Since the launch of our Fire/Rescue Division, DIMS has grown to include newly designed ruggedized download stations, explicitly designed to provide agencies with real time intelligence, by allowing for fast, wireless transfer of photo, audio, and even video data from on-scene mobile units into the hands of emergency teams, commanders and other key personnel. In addition, the Audio Acquisition Module has been extended to include he management of 911 call data and handi-talkie recordings.
